Arab Company for Pharmaceutical Products (Arabio)


Arabio is the first biopharmaceutical company in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC). The size and scope of activities make Arabio the first biological company of its kind in the Middle East. Arabio shareholders include Tamer Group, Jeddah BioCity, Acdima, and Islamic Development Bank. It has obtained the license from Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA) in early January 2011 to produce vaccines and sera. The company has concluded a technology transfer with Novartis and the License Agreement was signed in 2009. Negotiations are under way with several other global enterprises.
